The 2015 Yaris 3-door and 5-door are incredible value when it comes to purchase price, but looking at the fuel economy, you’ll get better mileage in the more expensive Prius C or the Corolla. If you opt for the Corolla you’ll also get a nicer interior, more power and a bit more room. How long it takes you to break even on the more expensive options depends on your driving style and commute, but it will be in the range of 6-8 years for many shoppers. This is not a problem unique to he Yaris, it’s the same story for most subcompact sedans or hatchbacks.
