It’s easy to see why some car companies resist premium features in their mass market models despite the drop in the cost of gadgets like radar cruise control, many of them have luxury brands. In the quest to differentiate cars like the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ, Toyota Avalon and Lexus ES, Chevy Impala and the Cadillac XTS, car companies limit the options in the pedestrian version so there’s a reason to up-sell you later. Kia’s family sedan has no luxury branded sistership however so Kia had nothing to lose by jamming all their luxury goodies into the new 2016 and 2017 Optima.
