2018 Chevrolet Tahoe RST 6.2L First Drive Review In 4K

If you’ve ever thought that Chevy’s full-size SUV needed a bigger engine, your prayers have been answered with the new 2018 Tahoe RST. The engine may be new to the Tahoe but this is the same 6.2L V8 that does duty under the hood of the related Cadillac Escalade and Yukon Denali only now you can get the same 420 horsepower engine for less cash in the Chevy. The RST trim is ostensibly the sport trim of the Tahoe (if you can call a 5,752 pound body-on-frame vehicle “sporty) so in addition to the engine upgrade GM will also toss in six-piston Brembo brakes, a standard magnetic ride control suspension, Borla sport exhaust and of course the all-new 10-speed automatic transmission. The combination makes the Tahoe RST a full second faster 0-60 than the lesser trims and allows it to stop from highway speeds in a shockingly quick 125 feet. Oh, and it’ll tow 8,600 pounds…
